Samoilov vs. Omarov added to M-1 Challenge XXI

: Grishin vs. Guram takes place October 28th in St. Petersburg, Russia. M-1 Officials today announced the addition Dmitry Samoilov and Gadzhimurad Omarov to the nights already impressive card that will see the crowning of 3 world champions.

26-year-old Dmitry Samoilov is a member of the famed Red Devil fight club, and is considered by many one of the brightest Russian prospects in MMA . As a student Fedor Emelianenko , in 2005 he won the World Championship in Combat Sambo, and the 2008 season of the M-1 Challenge won the world title with Russia’s Imperial Team. After a turbulent 2009, Dmitry has decided to change his weight class and has found success. On July 14, he took part in the Open European Championship mixed martial arts in Sochi . Samoilov won by submission over Sebastien Libeba. Now Samoilov will try to do everything in his power to confidently return to the elite of Russian MMA and again go to the international level.

Gadzhimurad Omarov remains one of the quickest rising star in Russian MMA. With a perfect 5-0 recoard he started his professional MMA career in late 2008, he spent 2009 bringing his Russian Legion M-1 Challenge team one victory after another. In the final tournament of the season, Omarov even ventured into new territory and competed in the finals as a heavyweight , where he had an exhausting battle with the much heavier Lloyd Marshbanks enroute to the victory and securing a perfect 5-0 score for his team Russia Legion who won the championship in the shutout. After taking a few months off, Omarov is primed and ready for his return on October 28.

Heavyweight Title Fight:

Maxim Grishin, M-1 Selection Eastern Europe champion (7-4) battles the undefeated Guram Gugenishvili, M-1 Selection Western Europe champion (8-0).
