If Colin Schrader thought that Ligers were only mythical creatures stemming from Napoleon Dynamite’s artistic imagination, when he woke up from ‘LaLa Land’ last Saturday night, Schrader learned first-hand that ‘The Liger’ does exist and hails from Victory Athletics – the home of Len Bentley.
At 1:45 of the second round, Len ‘The Liger’ Bentley unleashed his devastating one-punch knock-out power and put Colin Schrader down face-first onto the M-1 Ring’s canvas leaving him to be stretchered out unconscious at the M-1 Selection Americas tournament Semi Finals in Atlantic City, New Jersey. “Bentley clearly wanted to keep this fight standing,” says Evgeni Kogan, M-1 Global’s Director of Operations. “He showed great composure leading up to what was clearly the event’s knock-out of the night.”
Taking the fight on short notice as an alternate for the bout, Bentley made the most of his opportunity and made a clear statement that he belongs under the M-1 banner. “I train with a great stable of athletes who are always prepared to fight. I bring solid well-rounded skills to my game and I set up the right hand. Once it connected, I knew he was out,” says Bentley. “I feel good and now it’s back to the gym to prepare for September 18th.”
Coming out of the Semi Final bout is a definite bonus as Bentley will face Tom Gallicchio in an epic Welterweight clash in a mere 39 days to determine the tournament champion.
