On August 7, Mike Foster will take the next step towards the finals of the M-1 Selection: Americas Light Heavyweight tournament. M-1Global.com had a chance to speak with the fighter and discuss his up coming fight, the controversay surrounding his first round matchup and what this elite level athlete is doing to prepare for the biggest fight of his career.
Foster is a former NFL player who spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Unlike many cross-over athletes coming from the realm of professional sports, Foster skipped the amateur ranks and went straight to his first professional mixed martial arts bout at “King of the Cage: Ice Age” and won a decisive first-round knock out against Jeff Doyle. At 24 seconds into the first round, Foster opened eyes and satisfied any doubts that he belongs in the sport of mixed martial arts.
