Philly, PA native Aaron Meisner is looking to make an immediate impact with the M-1 Global brass when he enters the ring on June 26 in Atlantic City against his relatively unknown opponent,  Vagner “Curio” Fernandes, at the M-1 Selection 2010 – Americas welterweight tournament.

Meisner has tasted opportunity in the past. As part of The Ultimate Fighter’s seventh season featuring an array of talented middleweights, Meisner’s quest to be crowned the TUF champion was short lived after losing to Brandon Sene in the preliminary elimination bouts. Since the show, he has gone 3-2 and is looking to seize victory and extend his current two-fight winning streak since dropping to welterweight.

“What I like most about Meisner,” says Evgeni Kogan, Director of Operations for M-1 Global, “is his energy and exciting fighting style. Fans enjoy the intensity Meisner brings to mixed martial arts and M-1 is about delivering fans the experience they want and deserve to see.”

“Exciting” is a serious understatement when it comes to describing Meisner’s bouts; since his debut in 2007, every one of his first six professional MMA bouts have ended in the first round with a total elapsed fighting time of a mere 14:29 – that’s less that his recent decision victory over Francis Ambang where he went the full fifteen.

With the tournament formula on the line, Meisner will be looking to get into the ring, make his statement with a decisive victory and prepare for the following bout in August. All that is standing between him and his quest is Vagner “Curio” Fernandes.
