M-1Global will be providing a free stream of Saturday’s Western European M1Selection tournament semifinals. Live event coverage begins at 1 PM Eastern standard Time 10 AM Pacific Time and will emanate from the Ice Hall in Helsinki Finland.
The event will feature twenty of Western Europe’s most promising fighters, each of which will be vying for entrance into the tournament finals.
In the first lightweight semifinal, German fighter Sebastian Nowak (5-0) takes on Kuku Victor (6-5-1) of the Netherlands. Kuku is a very talented striker and dubbed by many as “the most entertaining fighter you haven’t seen yet.”
Sebastian Nowak holds undefeated MMA record of 5-0. A talented wrestler fighting out of Germany’s East Coast Germanen team,  Nowak has only gone to the score cards one time. Nowak comes to the semi finals on the heels of a third-round rear-naked choke win over Jimmy Immonen in the tournament quarterfinals just 3 short weeks ago.
Kuku has an undefeated professional kickboxing record of 20-0. But in 2007 Victor made the switch to MMA. For Victor his striking has served him well as evidenced by his February win over Jawaad Hussein a fight in which his dynamic striking proved to be too much for his opponent. Nowak will have to be cautious of knees as Victor has ended his last two fights in devastating fashion.
The second semi-final in the lightweight division features submission artist Julien Boussuge (5-0) from France facing off with  Mairbek Taisumov (10-2) of the Chechen Republic.
Boussuge, a training partner of M-1Global middleweight fighter Karl Amoussou is undefeated at 5-0 mark which he looks to protect on his way to the finals. .Boussuge enters the semi final off the heels of a first-round  victory via kimura over Ivica Truscek in February at the Eastern European quaterfinals.
Taisumov, a natural welterweight moved into the lightweight division for this tournament. He was able to score a very impressive first-round TKO win over a very tough Borys Mankowski in the tournament quarterfinals. Taisumov is currently riding a five fight winning streak and hopes his sixth consecutive victory will gain him entrance into the finals.
In the welterweight division there are two fights scheduled, the first featuring Belgium’s own Semih Arslan (1-0) face Dutch judoka Berrie Bunthof (8-3)
Arslan is a newcomer to the MMA scene, in his debut he defeated Jedrzej Kubski , a veteran with 24 flights . In his split decision victory over his much more experienced opponent Arslan showed the poise and control of the fighter with much more experience. Arslan may be viewed as a longshot by the pundits, but this Belgian rookie has proven nobody should be looking past him.
Bunthof, a submission specialists, secured his place in the semifinals by submitting Ivica Jakopic. The battle took place as a M-1 Selection reserve match just a few short weeks ago Bunthof’s wins have all come via stoppage, five of which by submission.
The other side of the welterweight semifinal bracket features a fighter from Serbia, Miljan Jaksic (2-1) as he set to battle Abner Lloveras (9-4-1) from Spain.
Jaksic turned pro in May 2009, and his two victories have come via submission (both by rear-naked choke). Jaksic’s lone loss come via TKO, and he has yet to fight out of the first round.
Meanwhile, Llovers, The far more experienced fighter has fought several times for M-1 and hasn’t lost a fight since 2007! Lloveras who is currently on a four fight win streak won his last fight by KO told us that he will be eager to repeat this in Helsinki!
In the middleweight division the Polish Rafal ‘Kulturysta’ Moks will take on Daniel ‘the punisher’ Dzebiz from Croatia.
Dzebic who defeated Lopez Owonyebe in the first round of the M-1 Eastern European tournament is a stand-up fighter with good power and hand speed.
Moks on the other hand is a real Brazilian Jiu-Jutsu expert which he showed in his first M-1 fight against Serghei Popa. Moks was able to gain entry into the semifinal round by choking out his opponent in the very first round of their quarterfinal matchup.
The second fight in the middleweight category is a fight between two Holland based fighters.
Jermain Voetman looked impressive in his first MMA fight by TKO’ing one of Hollands biggest kickboxing talents Geronimo de Groot in quarterfinal action. Voetman will face a more difficult challenge in the semifinals as his opponent will enter the cage far more experienced.
M-1 veteran Bayrak (7-5) is a training partner of STRIKEFORCE world heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem and looks back on track after a few losses in 2009. Bayrak won his quarterfinal matchup, and looks to continue his winning ways to prove that he is back on the winning track.
The Light Heavy Weight category features a couple of fighters who are relatively new to the sport. Â Timo Kartunnen(1-0), from Finland will fight a home game against Polish supertalent ThomaszNarkun (2-0). Both fighters are still very young in their MMA careers and both are eager to keep their undefeated records and earn a spot in the M-1 selection finals. Narkun is seen as a big European prospect and trains daily with former strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi but will that be enough against Finlands own Timo Kartunnen in Helsinki!
The nights Heavy Weight fight matches up Croatian Drazen Forgac (6-4) against a very talented German  Dawid Baziak (7-1). Based on their records Baziak will appear to be be the favorite but Forgac told M-1 he is in the best shape of his life and ready to show it. Baziak who has won 6 out of his 8 fights by TKO and continues to look more impressive with each passing fight. Many see this as one of the most anticipated M-1 selection fights with very few people believing it will go the distance.
Also on the card Cindy Dandois , one of the hottest female prospects on the MMA scene, will place her perfect 3-0 record on the line against Germany’s Sheila Gaff. For Dandois this fight could place her one step closer to this summer’s strikeforce women’s tournament.
In super fight action Croatia’s Maro Perk will face off against M1 and UFC veteran Jordan Radev. Also 2009 M-1 Challenge championship team member Yuri Ivlev of team Russia Legion will do battle against Germany’s Mario Stapel.
