In the beginning of 2010 M-1Global set out to search the globe for the best up and coming talent in mixed martial arts. The M-1Selection 2010 tournament has proven to be the most ambitious tournament of its kind, with over a hundred fighters from various countries competing in regional tournaments for a chance a victory and the opportunity to move forward to a larger global stage. In the light heavyweight division of the Eastern European semi-finals we have a battle between two hightly decorated combat sports professionals.
On May 28 in Kiev, Ukraine M-1 Global will be holding the Semi-Final round of fights for the Eastern European region of the 2010 M-1 Selection.  The second fight in the light heavyweight division features  a duel between some of the most promising light heavyweight fighter in Eastern Europe as Alikhan Magomedov of Anapa ( A world and European Combat Sambo champion) does battle with Vyacheslav Vasilevsky who represents Sambo-70.
Alikhan Magomedov (9-0), representing the team of Anapa. Has been very busy over the last 12 months.  In the past year, Magomedov has participated  in the 3 rd, 4 th and 7 th rounds of M-1 Selection in the middle weight category, all three matchs combined lasted just over four minutes, scoring two wins by TKO ( Vadim Khazov , 0:59 and Aron Topchyan , 1:40), and one Submission ( Anatoly Lavrov , 1:47). In the first stage M-1 Selection 2010, in the light-heavy weight category, he won a by submission at  0:38 of the second round via choke over Ibrahim Khalilov (5-1-1) from the team “Highlander”.
Magomedov, born in Makhachkala, December 9, 1983. Became the champion of Dagestan and Russia on pankration in 2005, the champion of Dagestan in Combat Sambo champion in 2005 and the Republic of Sport Sambo in 2006, Â also the Dagestan champion in Thai boxing, he has also won an international MMA tournament in Barnaul.
Vasilevsky (10-1), representing a team Sambo-70 from Moscow. Has scored 10 wins ahead of schedule: 8 victories won by knockouts and 2 – by submission. Vasilevsky is a student of Alexei Chugreeva who has trained many champions in Combat Sambo. During his career in mixed martial arts Alexei suffered only one defeat . Since then, Vyacheslav not allowed for any misfires and, like a tank has swept from the ring and his opponents. According to many fans of mixed martial arts, this talented fighter is one of the favorites in the 2010 M-1 Selection Eastern European tournament  in his weight category.
Vyacheslav – Â is a master of sports of international class in combat sambo champion of Europe and the world for this type of martial arts.
Vasilevsky was supposed to start in the tournament M-1, Selection 26 February 2010 in St. Petersburg, but because of small injuries Vyacheslav received the championship of Russia in Combat Sambo, it was decided to postpone his bout with Sergei Guzev the second round of M -1 Selection Eastern Europe, which took place April 10 in Moscow.
This fight promises to be a display of technical mixed martial arts as these two elite level athletes test one another . At stake is access to the finals of the  M-1 Selection Eastern Europe 2010 an that neither fighter plans on passing up on.
