One of the most experienced Russian heavyweights used to compete in the whole world be it Czech Republic, Latvia or Brazil.
Alexander Volkov (Red Devil) 5-1
One of the most promising up-and-coming fighters hailing out of Russia. In his young career he’s already won multiple ashihara-karate tournaments and having debuted just one year ago he’s already amassed an incredible record of 5 wins (4 stoppages) against one loss. It was much more experienced Akhmed Sultanov who handed Alexander his only loss so far. Although he looks too lanky and a bit clumsy, Alexander is very agile for 6’7″. Starting in 2009 with rating bouts he finished the year with a bang in M-1 Selection 2009 Finale defeating a seasoned veteran and one-time Pride fighter in Ibragim Magomedov who’s got more than 30 fights under his belt.
Gadzhimurad Nurmagomedov (Legion) 5-1
One of the new breed coming from Rostov-on-Don. Russian combat sambo champion. Nurmagomedov fought twice under M-1 banner in 2009 when he lost to Ibragim Magomedov and then won against Vladimir Kuchenko.
Magomed Ibragimov (Anapa) 5-0
Undefeated fighter from the city of Anapa whose excellent skills helped him en route to victories over bigger and stronger opponents. He’s a Russian hand-to-hand combat champion.
Arsen Abdulkerimov (Gorets) 5-0
A very tall Judo wizard who won once in the M-1 Selection 2009 but sat out the rest of the year because of an injury. Expect him to make big waves in this year’s Grand Prix.
Maxim Grishin (Red Devil) 5-4
This young heavyweight trains in Red Devil Saint Petersburg and Stary Oskol facilities. Russian and Army Forces’ hand-to-hand combat champion. Last year was up and downs for him as he gathered a valuable experience both in M-1 Selection and Challenge series.
Alexander Romaschenko (Ukraine) 1-0
World Pancration champion was chosen to represent his home country in the M-1 Eastern Europe heavyweight Grand Prix.
Vitaly Yalovenko (Volgograd) 3-1-1
A Martial Arts veteran with vast experience in judo and sambo.
