When M-1Global’s Gegard Mousasi agreed to face Gary Goodridge at Fields Dyanmite!! 2009 on short notice, questions about training, and motivation for the fight were asked.
All those questions were answered and more as the Strikeforce light heavyweight champion needed only 1:34 of the first round to extend his winning streak to an amazing 15 fights.
The fight started with Mousasi landing a few swift inside leg kicks early and followed with a quick double leg takedown. Mousasi then punished Goodridge with a barrage of punches. Goodridge attempted to improve his position but found himself in deeper trouble as Mousasi gained better position, and rained down punches until the official stepped in to halt the bout.
Goodridge appeared to protest to the official in regards to the stoppage, but with no offense offered, and Goodridge unable to defend himself the official was left with little choice but to protect the fighter.
While Gegard Mousasi improved his current win streak to 15 fights, Goodridge has lost five-straight.
