On Aug. 28 at the historic Memorial Hall in Kansas City, some of the world’s best up-and-coming talent will be on display during “HDNET FIGHTS PRESENTS M-1 GLOBAL BREAKTHROUGH.”
The event will also mark the return to M-1 of one of the first graduates of the M-1 Challenge (a class that also includes Strikeforce light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi and WEC lightweight Dave Jansen), current DREAM star Daisuke Nakamura.
Nakamura, a former member of Team Japan in the M-1 Challenge, made his mark in 2008 by going 4-0 under the M-1 banner in 2008. Also a veteran of famed Japanese-based promotions PRIDE and DEEP, Nakamura made a name for himself last year by not only winning but also partaking in some of the most exciting fights in the history of the M-1 Challenge.
At “Breakthrough,” Nakamura is looking to be involved in another classic confrontation, this time with 2000 Olympic Judoka Ferrid “The Hurricane” Kheder, 14-3.
Below is video of two of Nakamura’s most notable fights…
