A facial cut sustained during training has forced former college wrestling standout Charlie Brenneman to pull out of his M-1 Challenge debut scheduled for Aug. 16 at Studio 22 in Hilversum, Holland.
In place of Brenneman, 9-1, M-1 Global officials have signed fellow welterweight prospect Shamar Bailey to step in and replace Brenneman as USA East’s 167.2 lbs. representative. Now on the squad, Bailey is set to face Team Benelux’s Raymond Jarman, 10-9.
Bailey, 8-1, has made a name for himself on the local Midwest circuit and has shown up on he radars of major promotions such as Strikeforce and the UFC.
Competing for promotions such as the United Fight League, Revolution Fight League, and King of the Cage, Bailey has posted notable wins over Rodney Sleepers, Courtney Ray, and Wacchim Spiritwolf.
