Former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi’s planned second round appearance in DREAM’s openweight “Super Hulk Tournament” against Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou has been moved to a yet-to-be-announced event in October.
Mousasi revealed the news himself during a recent episode of MMAjunkie.com Radio.
He and Sokoudjou had been scheduled to face each other on Sept. 23 in Japan during DREAM.11. However, the change will now provide Mousasi with additional time to recover following his anticipated Aug. 1 showdown with Renato “Babalu” Sobral during M-1 and Affliction’s “Trilogy” event.
Mousasi was able to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament after submitting Mark Hunt with an armbar at 1:19 of round 1 at DREAM.9 on May 26.
