Team Turkey is scheduled to return to action on Friday, June 5 in Kansas City at the refurbished Memorial Hall in a best-of-five M-1 Challenge series vs. the World Team.
Appearing for the first time in Kansas City will be former DREAM middleweight champion Gegard Mousasi, who will be serving as the head coach of Turkey.
Before Mousasi can attend to his coaching duties, he first must face former PRIDE star and current K-1 standout Mark Hunt in the first round of DREAM’s “Superhulk Tournament” to be held on Tuesday, May 26 in Yokohama, Japan.
The tournament, which will also feature first round matchups between Jose Canseco vs. Hong Man Choi, Bob Sapp vs. Ikuhisa Minowa, and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou vs. Jan Nortje, will be televised live on HDNet in the United States starting at 3 a.m. ET.
Additionally, negotiations are currently taking place regarding the possibilty of Mousasi competing for a major promotion in the United States for the first time of his career.
