M-1′s Gegard Mousasi to participate in “Super Hulk” tournament

In a made-for- event, DREAM will be conducting an open weight competition entitled the “Super Hulk” tournament during its DREAM.9 on May 26 at the in .

And confirmed to compete in the tournament is M-1 Global-contracted fighter and M-1 Challenge alumnus Gegard Mousasi.

Mousasi, who won DREAM’s middleweight Grand Prix last year, has relinquished his middleweight title in order to pursue his aspirations of competing at a heavier weight. Mousasi’s first test at heavyweight will not be an easy one, as he’s slated to meet K-1 and former PRIDE super heavyweight in the first round.

In addition to the “Super Hulk” tournament, DREAM.9 will also feature the second round of its featherweight Grand Prix along with a match between Jason “Mayhem” Miller and Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza to determine DREAM’s new middleweight champion.
